November 29, 2007 Give Mike Gravel a Chance
Mike Gravel has been banned from the Democratic debates because he speaks
his mind. Gravel is a former Democratic United States Senator from
Alaska, having served
for two terms, from 1969 to 1981.
He is primarily known for his efforts in ending the draft following the
Vietnam War and for having put the Pentagon Papers into the public record
in 1971. Gravel has stated that he is an advocate for 'a national, universal
single-payer not-for-profit health care system' in the United States which
would utilize vouchers and enable citizens to choose their own doctor.
He has proposed to index veteran health care entitlements to take full account
of increases in the costs of care and medicine. He supports a drug policy
that legalizes and regulates all drugs, treating drug abuse as a medical
issue, rather than a criminal matter. Gravel favors a
guest worker program, supports the FairTax proposal that calls for eliminating
the IRS and the income tax and replacing it with a progressive national
sales tax of 23 percent on newly manufactured items and services. (The tax
is progressive because all taxes on spending up to the poverty level are
refunded to every household.) Senator Gravel has advocated that carbon energy
should be taxed to provide the funding for a global effort to bring together
the world's scientific and engineering communities to develop energy alternatives
to significantly reduce the world’s energy dependence on carbon.
He is avowedly pro-choice on the issue of abortion and women's reproductive
rights. He supports constitutional amendments towards
direct democracy and is currently a candidate for the 2008 Democratic nomination
for President of the United States.

Body of War is an intimate and transformational feature documentary about
the true face of war today. Meet Tomas Young, 25 years old, paralyzed from
a bullet to his spine — wounded after serving in Iraq for less than
a week. Body of War is his coming home story as he evolves into a new person,
dealing with his disability and finding his own unique and passionate voice
against the war. The film is produced and directed by Phil Donahue and Ellen
Spiro; Karen Bernstein is co-producer; and Bernadine Colish serves as editor.
The film features two original songs by Eddie Vedder. Body of War is a nakedly
honest portrayal of what it’s like inside the body, heart and soul
of this extraordinary and heroic young man.

The Republican Party "Law and Order" candidate has a revelation
regarding FOX skewing the news. "For
you [FOX] to highlight nothing but the negatives in terms of the polls
then put on

a lot of other opinions out there."

November 19, 2007 Videologblog: Writers Strike
From the Colbert Report writers. "Very successful entertainment executive,
who is also quite young for his position, on why scribes'
strike is asinine.
Not tooting own horn or anything but he is very connected-- squash, Iger--
has inside dope. And 'hung' not an exaggeration. Rare example of humility
in biz. Also makes squash-playing very challenging. If he can't change this
description later, you'll never work in this town again, Youtube."
November 16, 2007 FOX News Porn
There's enough smut on FOX News to make an entire
porn site. All the footage you see in the video aired on the FOX News

in action. How is FOX allowed to call this "news?"
November 14 2007 Negotiation is Not an Option
Remember John Bolton? The neocon installed at the State Department to keep
Colin Powell under control and then later given a recess appointment to
be US Ambassador. I could give you a list of particulars but suffice it
to say that Bolton was a key factor in basically all the Bush White House's
most disastrous decisions and he's still got the Iran war coming up. Now
he's back on the airwaves with a new book and the ear of a certain Republican
presidential candidate who's running on his record as mayor of New York.

November 1, 2007 Drew Carey Defends Medical Marijuana
One of the most outrageous consequences of the war on drugs is the federal
crackdown on medical marijuana, which is used by patients to help treat
the effects of cancer, glaucoma, HIV-AIDS, chronic pain and nausea, and
other severe symptoms associated with serious illnesses. Medical marijuana
prescribed by a physician is legal in 12 states, yet federal agents are
raiding state-approved dispensaries and preventing patients from having
safe access to this drug. “I think it’s clear by now that the federal government needs
to reclassify marijuana. People who need it should be able to get it – safely
and easily,” says The Price Is Right and Power of 10 host Drew Carey
in a new Reason.tv video examining medical marijuana and the war on drugs.
